Emergency Response Procedures

Your child's safety is our top priority. All BeachSports coaches are First Aid and CPR certified, and every location has an emergency action plan covering injuries, earthquakes, fires, lightning, tsunamis, and more.

Beach locations (BEACH, SURF, VOLLEYBALL & OCEAN)

All BeachSports beach locations are set up within 50 feet of a staffed LA County Lifeguard station. Nearly every injury that occurs is treated by the LA County Lifeguard on duty. Minor scrapes may be treated on-site by our Head Coach or Location Director using our first aid kit.

When an injury occurs:

  1. The on-duty Lifeguard or Head Coach assesses and treats the injury.
  2. An accident report is completed by the Head Coach and the coach who witnessed the injury.
  3. The accident report is emailed to the parent or guardian after pick-up that day.
  4. For more serious injuries, the Head Coach will call the parent or guardian and the emergency contact listed on the child's account immediately.

SKATE Program

Our Skate coaches are First Aid and CPR certified. The Head Coach assesses any injuries on-site and treats them using our first aid kit.

When an injury occurs:

  1. The Head Coach assesses the injury and provides first aid treatment.
  2. An accident report is completed and given to the parent or guardian at pick-up.
  3. Depending on the severity, the Head Coach may call the parent or guardian and emergency contact immediately.
  4. In the event of a serious injury, the Head Coach will call 911 and then the parent.

Keeping you informed

All injuries — no matter how minor — are documented in an accident report and shared with parents the same day. Your child's wellbeing is our greatest concern, and we're committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.
