Toilet Training Requirements

All BeachSports participants must be fully toilet trained before joining our programs. This means your child should be wearing a swimsuit or underwear — not training pants — and be able to manage bathroom routines independently.

We understand that even well-trained children have the occasional accident, and that's okay. However, if a child is having frequent or daily accidents, they may not yet be ready to participate.

What does fully toilet trained mean?

Your child should be able to:

  • Tell a coach when they need to use the restroom, with enough time to get there
  • Recognize when it's time to stop playing and take a bathroom break
  • Pull their own clothes down and back up
  • Wipe themselves independently
  • Get on and off the toilet safely
  • Wash and dry their hands afterward
  • Wait briefly if the restroom is occupied

Our coaches are unable to assist with toileting, so please dress your child in clothes they can manage easily on their own.

If a child continues to have frequent accidents during the program, they may not be ready to fully participate in program activities and we'll work with you to find the best solution.
